About Carol-Ann Allen
Carol-Ann brings over 20 years of professional training, knowledge and experience to every session.
Equally valuable, Carol-Ann brings the flexibility of an open mind, a sensitive ear, and a gentle sense of humor and playfulness to her work. Therapeutic healing need not be painful. She works actively and collaboratively, offering new perspective and respectful, responsive support. Her work has often been described as “transformative”. As one client put it, Carol-Ann offers “practical, usable hope”.
Carol-Ann specialises in working with individuals and couples who want to move beyond the painful thoughts, beliefs, feelings and behaviours that have limited their capacity to find joy or meaning in life, people who dream of developing their full potential, or creating healthy and lasting connections with others.
Personal statement:
“For over twenty years, I have been privileged to work with a great many individuals, couples and families during challenging periods of distress and uncertainty in their lives. I have witnessed so many moments of courage as clients have struggled through painful experiences of depression, anxiety, grief, illness or relationship stress. Their courage has fueled my own determination to help create better pathways of hope and possibility during challenging times. And if change can happen with laughter along the way, so much the better.”
Research repeatedly shows that the most significant factor influencing the success of a course of psychotherapy is the experienced quality of the working relationship between therapist and client. The "fit" matters. I invite you to contact me with any questions you may have about the potential fit between us. Your needs and preferences matter to me. An initial consultation is often the best opportunity to experience the rightness of fit. There is absolutely no obligation to continue with me, and I will do my best to help you locate another service provider should you want to pursue other options.
